Ginger panela pulled pork


  • 2.5 lbs pork loin

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt and pepper

Panela ginger marinade:

  • ⅔ cup panela

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce

  • Juice of one lime

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger

  • Clintro and lime wedges


  1. In a large skillet heat the oil over medium high heat. Season pork with salt and pepper and let sear on both sides until the outside edges begin to blacken. Remove from heat and place at bottom of a slow cooker (or large pot)

  2. Whisk together marinade ingredients and pour over pork. Let cook for 4 hours on lowest heat possible if using pot, up to 8 hours with slow cooker

  3. Once pork is finished (when falls apart at touch of fork) remove from pot and cook down the marinade until it begins to thicken. Pull apart pork with knife and mix it in with the marinade!
